“Village Life”

DSC_0687

Cambodia
Through Harold’s Lens:

The first world
Does not pass by.

Her special world
Remote village
Outside
Siem Reap.

Vista
Dusty
Dirt road

Naked children
Kicking
Old ball.

Bent women
Carrying
Buckets
Heavy water.

Hunched men
Carrying
Pounds
Cut bamboo.

Simple
Easy going life.

She watches me.
She smiles at me.
She stares at my camera.
She looks at her photograph.

She laughs.
She is happy.

My favorite kind of world!

  1. Harold, you are so right, they have not all the gadgets we have but are more content with their life than us. Their desire asr e not as big and as many as in our western world. We can learn a lot from them!

    • I find this thought provoking also Amos. Her world. Simple, Basic. Slow. No tv. No computer. No cell phone. No electronic games. Not a tech item in sight. Maybe an old chewed pencil. Scrap of paper. Hammock handmade from nature in the jungle behind her home. Hand-me-downs for her body. Children pass her by kicking an old soccer ball. Laughing, giggling. Contended with life the way it is. Yes, very thought provoking Amos.
