  1. Ah, the master of imagery is at it again! I love it. The frozen moment in time preserved to perfection. Well done, Harold. Looking forward to your next posts. (Oh, and Boggel sends his best wishes. The 21 yr old Chivas is still exactly where you left it: second shelf, behind the till.)

    • Thank you Amos. It’s was fun to put my mind inside that of a 5-year little boy as he imagines his star filled future on the stadium grasses of champions. On his game-winnning goal, I am taking him with me to Rolbos. He’s got to meet Boggel and his bar-filled cast of characters. Of course we’ll crack the tight seal and slowly sip a wee dram of Boggel’s 21 year old Chivas. Is there a password to get by the till, or does the sound of a few rolling coins do it like it does in the rest of the world.

      • Boggel is rather sharp at keeping score – at the bar, not on the dusty soccer field near Grootdrink. Incidently, Groot Drink means ‘ Big Drink’ referring to the dry and dusty route through the Karoo that ends on the banks of the Orange River. A place to slake a thirst indeed!

  2. back into infinity…the three elements…fire…water…air…glad you’re back…it might have felt too didactic previously…but here you are now…in the moment…a soccer…superstar…drifting through reality so casually…

    • Thank you Maine Maiden as you softly drift through barren birch gathering warm friendships along your trail. A little boy… a dreamer… who hears the stadium announcer scream “Goooooooooooool” to 100,000 ecstatic, yelling fans as he drills the winning gold medal goal for his team in the final match of the World Cup.
