“Mother’s Love”

TANZANIA Through Harold’s Lens:

Childhood places more responsibility on girls than boys.

This little girl was resting between her chores of milking and cooking in the village of her parents.

  1. Harold, this is a beautiful photo in so many ways. The colors are fantastic, but what gets me choked up is the simple gesture of the mom’s hand on her child’s head. I often do this to my kids. Sometimes it is just an unconscious action. Thank you for sharing. I have definitely connected emotionally with this photo. Thanks, also, for stopping by Travel Oops and liking the temple photos! • Steph, thank you for your very nice comments. I try not to get too overwhelmed with all that is going on in a Maasai village like this, and try to find and focus on the emotional connections going on.

  2. Thank you Terry. After getting over being overwhelmed at being in the different culture of a Maasai village, and trying to take in all that is going on, I began to concentrate on various Maasai individuals, relationships and families. Thus a photo like this.

  3. Hi Harold…..I can see why this is one of your favorites. Besides the composition and feeling shown through the eyes, the blue cast is beautiful.
